An interesting coastal walk from Brough to Harrow. A glorious walking day, lots of sunshine with passing clouds and a cooling breeze. Wonderful clear views of Dunnet Head and the Orkney Islands. It is not a defined path and walking was tough, very overgrown, so the going was slow – just 10 kilometres in 4 hours walking. I had intended to walk to John O’Groats but by 2pm I still had 12 kilometres to go and realising I would not arrive in time for the last bus (4.50pm) switched to road walking. Then “lady luck” intervened! just as I reached the road from Harrow Harbour, a bus appeared in the distance, I was no where near any bus stop but raised my arm and it stopped and soon I was back in Thurso. I will return to Harrow on another day to complete the coastal walk to John O’Groats.
